Up to Monte Venini!


 Since I literally fell off Monte Grona last year and had a very lucky escape, I thought my mountain days were over. But last week I had the chance to go up Monte Venini for the first time ever. Venini is right above Menaggio on the south side of the road that goes over to Lugano. It was stunning in the spring sunshine and I'm so grateful that I got to go. The old military road, built in WW1, is long and hard going, not for the faint hearted or the weak-stomached!
